Brawl Stars December 2025 Update: Pierce, Glowbert, Buffies and the Brawl Pass Rework

Brawl Talk December 2025 reveals Brawl Stars' new Brawlers, Buffies, reworked Brawl Pass, three modes, and Steampunk skins.

The December 2025 Brawl Talk has finally aired, and it arrived carrying far more than the usual seasonal trinkets. Following October's Stranger Things collaboration, Supercell has unveiled a packed content drop that reshapes how players collect rewards, how Brawlers grow stronger, and how matches are won. Two new fighters, a permanent power-up system called Buffies, a fully reworked Brawl Pass, three fresh game modes, and a Steampunk skin line all headline an update that touches nearly every corner of the game. For a title that has already celebrated years of live-service success, the question is simple: how does it keep finding new ways to reinvent itself?

Pierce: The Velocirapids Finale

Pierce arrives as a Legendary Brawler and closes out the Velocirapids trio, while simultaneously opening the door to the brand-new Sea Monsters Aquarium area. His trait is unlike anything seen before. Every time his main attack connects, he leaves a bullet shell on the ground. Reloading only happens when he picks a shell back up or burns through his entire ammo supply.

Picking up a shell triggers an instant free shot toward the nearest enemy, and that shot pierces straight through the environment. The final bullet in the chamber also deals bonus damage, rewarding players who track their ammo carefully. His Super marks enemies in a targeted area, causing homing bullets to chase them down, with each hit dropping yet another shell to sustain the cycle. Gadgets and Star Powers round him out by slowing opponents or absorbing incoming damage. Since he is the first Legendary released after the Brawler Release Event debuted, the developers may still fine-tune his numbers.

Glowbert: The Aquarium's Healer

Scheduled for January 2026, Glowbert works as a marine biologist at Starr Park's aquarium. This support-type Brawler channels a Glowbeam that continuously heals teammates or damages enemies, depending on where it is aimed. Damage and healing persist as long as the basic attack stays linked to a target.

The standout moment comes with his Super, when Glowbert reveals his face to terrify foes and deal damage in the process. His Gadgets and Star Powers push him further into the dedicated healer role, pulling allies out of tight spots.

Buffies: A Permanent Power Boost

Buffies represent a permanent progression layer that enhances Gadgets, Star Powers, and Hypercharges. Every Brawler can equip up to three, each granting distinct benefits. They come in three flavors: Gadget Buffies, Star Buffies, and Hyper Buffies, and they are obtained through the Claw Machine.

Six Brawlers receive Buffies at launch: Shelly, Colt, Spike, Emz, Frank, and Mortis. Alongside these additions, several abilities get reworked, giving the team a chance to revise kits that never quite performed as intended. Buffies follow a Brawler into battle, so both the player and their opponents can see them in action. The long-term plan is to extend Buffies to the entire roster.

The Brawl Pass Rework and the Vault

The Brawl Pass now costs $8.99 for the standard version and $12.99 for Pass Plus, a price increase offset by a substantial value boost. The headline addition is the Vault. Players earn four Vault Keys each month, and each key unlocks a different section:

Key Type What It Unlocks
Resource Keys Extra Coins, Power Points, or Bling
Brawler Keys Brawlers, with costs varying by rarity
Skin Keys Current or previous Brawl Pass skins
Buffie Keys Buffies

The Free Pass also gains ten new reward milestones, and tail rewards now grant random items instead of Starr Drops. Chaos Drops enter the mix as the most powerful Starr Drop variant, spanning Super Rare through Ultra Starr Drop rarities. They can split up to eight times while keeping the same rarity, meaning eight Ultra Legendary Chaos Drops are theoretically possible, containing Hypercharges, Mythic, Legendary, and Ultra Legendary Brawlers, plus Epic, Mythic, and Hypercharged skins.

Three New Game Modes

Safe Blast tasks teams with picking up and delivering bombs to destroy the enemy base. Lovebombing reimagines 2v2 Wipeout with a twist: main attacks stun enemies, and the Lovebomb eliminates opponents outright. Two Player Bosses lets friends team up against formidable bosses.

Skins and Seasonal Content

The Steampunk series leads the cosmetic charge, with Steampunk Stu as the Brawl Pass skin and Crime Lord Stu and Iced Out Stu as Chroma variants. Steampunk Gale joins as the second Pass skin, accompanied by Fancy Man Gale and Dapper Gale. Peaky Sam, Boss Brock, and Clockwork Kaze, Kaze's first Legendary skin, complete the lineup.

The Brawlentine season brings Heartbroken Rico with Break-Up Rico and Revenge Rico Chromas, plus Brawlentine's Angelo alongside Adonis Angelo and Snatched Angelo. Brawlentine's Bear Shade, Love Potion Squeak, and Baddie Allie add further variety. Seasonal offerings include Snowglobe Nani for Brawlidays, Lunar Lotus Willow for the Lunar New Year, and World Champion Max inspired by the World Finals.

With Gigi's Pas De Deux Hypercharge also arriving, dealing extra damage on arrival rather than only on departure, the update clearly aims to keep every mode, every Brawler, and every reward track feeling fresh heading into 2026.

Industry insights are provided by The Esports Observer, whose reporting on live-service monetization and competitive ecosystems helps frame why Brawl Stars' December 2025 overhaul matters beyond casual content additions. From a market perspective, systems like the Vault, Buffies, and expanded reward structures reflect a broader push to deepen retention while keeping the meta flexible enough for long-term engagement across both regular players and the wider esports audience.
